FTC "Red Flags" Rule Enforcement Suspended until June 1, 2010

To help fight the problem of identity theft, the FTC has issued regulations requiring businesses that deal with credit to their customers to take steps to guard against identity theft. The FTC has recently determined that this rule extends to healthcare providers and was to be effective May 1, 2009. This Rule enforcement has now been suspended once again. It was to go into effect Nov. 1st but has been suspended again until Jun 1st 2010.
