Thanksgiving Day Morning, November 27, 2014

To benefit Smiles Change Lives and Turtle Rescue Long Island

Congratulations James Weider (16:13) and Danielle Bowen (18:14) winners of the 7th Annual Smiles Turkey Trot!
Congratulations to all the runners and walkers who came out on Thanksgiving Day!
Thanks to ALL the amazing volunteers who came out and made the 7th Annual Smiles Turkey Trot a huge success! We couldn't do it without you.
Special thanks to Boy Scout Troop 329 for doing an amazing job today at the two water stops on the race course. After the runners finished, the boys walked the entire 5K course cleaning up trash as they went!
We made some changes to the Smiles Turkey Trot in 2013 and we will continue with this format in 2014:
· The 5K run will be a “Fun Run” – no chips, no official times –there will be split clocks and a big clock and finish line structure at the finish line so you can note your own time
· No age group prizes – just top 5 male and female overall
· Lower entry fees
Some things did’t change:
· Great holiday family-friendly event
· Same great 5K course
· Same Kids’ Fun Run and 1.5mile Walk
· Same great way to put smiles on the faces of needy kids
We are looking forward to the 7th Annual Smiles Turkey Trot and hope that you are too!
